Dr. Lindeman earned her doctorate in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 2010. As a graduate student, she set up an independent research lab to study the role of embodied cognition and conceptual metaphor in generating subjective, emotional experience. Since 2010, she has worked as a researcher for several non-profit organizations whose mission is to support the positive emotional development and healing of children and youth.

Dr. Lindeman received her BA in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1999. Between her undergraduate and graduate studies, she worked for the Association of Academic Health Centers in Washington, D.C., as a writer, editor, and assistant.
